New session for excercise begins Oct. 20th
Thank you for your participation in the fall session—I truly enjoyed working with you!    I just wanted to let you all know that I will be offering one last session for 2008!   This will be a five week session, same night and same time, starting this coming Monday 6:30 for the higher intensity class and Tuesday 7:50 for the moderate intensity class, and lasting until November 17.    The price will be pro-rated $15.    We will have a new strength training routine, which will work the major muscle groups, but with different movement patterns.  This is good for your brain (the neuromuscular connections stay fresh) good for motivation (prevents boredom) and good for your muscles (keeps them in a state of adaptation which facilitates progress).     Remember, the strength training element MUST BE REPEATED ONE OTHER TIME DURING THE WEEK  to make progress.   If the weather is rainy, or if the temperature drops below 50, I will notify you that morning by e-mail to meet in the lounge above Prince Street Café.   We will still work in cardio intervals and strength training, with a warm-up before and stretching afterwards.     Below I’ve included a short inspirational article reminding you why we do strength training and intervals in my classes!  And another motivation article reminding you why push-ups are such an amazing exercise!!!    Believe me, everything I put into our workouts is strategicly designed to cover the right muscle groups and produce the best results.   Please respond by e-mail to reserve your spot in the class.  See you next week! Ang

Leaders Meetings - 4-6 Sunday afternoon

This gathering will be a time to come together as God's people, to be a community for those who have been called to the city for the work of ministry here in Lancaster. The goal is to allow the spirit of God to build us up through each other, which may include praying for one another, studying the word together, sharing each other's burdens, singing together, etc. And this group will facilitate people in the group to participate in the ministry that each member is involved in,as each one practices the gifts given them.

The leader's meeting will not happen on the 1st Sunday of each month, due to the celebration gathering.

Thursday Kid's Club Taking a break for the summer

Thursday, May 22nd, will be the last evening of kid's club for this spring.  A big thank you to Stacy Neff, Katie, Knowles,  Jen Keim and others for making this time a weekly highlight for the children.  We hope to have kid's club start back up in the fall!

Network Prayer Gatherings

As a network, we have been sensing the need to be praying together more as a group.  We desired to be more committed to prayer as a spiritual discipline, as well as prayer for one another and our friends for spiritual growth.  We recognize a tendency among us and our friends to want to follow Jesus, but not be able to do so whole-heartedly because of cares and distractions that pull us in other directions.

You are invited to join us as we press in spiritually and ask God to move among us in greater ways.  We believe that humility, prayer, and repentance invite God to extend his hand to us.  II Chronicles 7:14 states that "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Many thanks to Wayne and Karla Martin for hosting these prayer times for the past season.   In the next months we want to creatively look at how we can be engaging in strategic prayer in our neighborhoods.   We are hoping to move the prayer times around to the different neighborhoods that we live in.   As more details come, we will keep you updated.

Monday Night Exercise

Hard to believe the winter session of excercise is coming to an end.  Next Monday will be our last class for this session.  If you interest in a Spring class, please contact Angie Myers.

Thursday Night Kid's Club

The 2nd and 4th Thursday nights of each month the children from the Net-Lancaster can be found at the 3rd floor lounge of the Prince St. Cafe building.  They meet from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. for worship, teaching, crafts, snacks, and games.

Our vision for this is "A safe, fun place for children to learn about Jesus."  I am particularly excited about this because these Kids' Club times are meant to be times of teaching and worship for the children.  I am praying the Holy Spirit breathes life into this and that children come to love the Lord.  Please join me in prayer for this as it comes to mind.

We hope to resume these times in the fall! :)   More info to come.
